MANILA, Philippines - As talk persisted among internet chat groups that the Irish rock band U2 is set to play in Manila, Inquirer Entertainment sought to verify the wild rumor.
The information we gathered was exciting enough to share with readers. "Yes, we're working on it," said an officer of Concertus, an events, concerts and marketing affiliate of MTV Philippines.
Unconfirmed date of the impending gig is sometime in October (the e-groups have not mentioned their sources -- the same month that the new U2 album is set to be released.
Still composed of the original lineup it had when the band formed in 1976, U2 became a top international act with its anthemic sound—anchored by the innovative playing style of guitarist the Edge and the impassioned words and vocals of front man Bono.
